TUESDAYS WITH THE COUNSELING CENTER

ALL IN THE FAMILY:
Alcoholism and Its Effects

  • Ever think that your family was so different that they could be the topic of a bad TV sitcom?
  • Ever been afraid to bring people home to meet your family?
  • Has alcohol ever been a focus of concern in your home?
If you grew up in a family in which someone had issues with drinking, this might the workshop for you.

Participants will ….

  • Look at alcoholism as a "family disease"
  • Learn about the unique roles people assume within an alcoholic family
  • Identify characteristics common to adults who grew up in homes with an alcoholic
  • Find out about possible resources unique to adult children of alcoholics
